by Johan Nyman

Johan wrote a guide that will help beginners get into PC-modding because that is something that often comes up when showing of different builds, comments like: “that looks so difficult” “I wish I could do that” etc. So Johan wanted to make a build where he did simple mods and showed off how to do them. The choice of case for this guide was Corsair’s Carbide Air 240 and in these pictures you can see the end result!

Hardware & modifications
  • Corsair Carbide Air 240
  • Asus Maximus VIII Gene Z170 mATX
  • Intel Core i7 6700K
  • EVGA GeForde GTX 980Ti 6GB SC+ ACX 2.0
  • Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x8GB DDR4
  • Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB
  • Corsair RM650i
  • Corsair Commander Mini
  • Corsair H100i GTX
  • Corsair AF120/SP120 Quiet Edition
  • Installing a custom windowframe.
  • Installing custom-milled casefeet.
  • Painting front and top-grills.
  • Installing lighting strips.
  • Sleeved cables.
As this build was the base of a simple How to mod-guide, the buildlog is also the guide. Johan wanted to share some of his simple tips on how to make your own PC more personal. So check out the buildlog/guide and try yourself!
